You can't beat this GSW team with just two HOFs. You need to build your own GSW. A team stacked with talent. Lakers would be stupid to trade their core for Kawhi at this point.

Why? Their "core" will never be talented enough to win a title. This isn't a young OKC team. If you can get Kawhi you get him while Lebron is still in his prime.

Absolutely need Kawhi to even possibly challenge them

Of course, if we know for certain that he’s signing with us then I’d rather use this year as an extended audition and then sign him and keep our youth. We’ll be poised to dethrone the Warriors. Might even make room for Boogie if he wants to be on his Deion.

Edit: our young guys are being sorely underrated. I think playing with LeBron and other seasoned vets is going to give them a huge growth spurt in terms of development.

Nah that's not a smart risk considering that happened with PG13. I personally don't think Ingram/Kuzma will ever be the tier player that Kawhi is right now, so I trade for him and get another guy in free agency next year.

If the spurs not tryna deal with us what else can we do? They not gettin a Celtics/Nets deal out of us. I know the george paul shyt happened but in this instance there are other players to be had also should Kawhi change his mind. I don’t see him doing so tho.

I’m willing to part with one or two of the young guys but it’s gotta be a deal within reason.

Wishful thinking but I don't see Kawhi pulling shyt like Paul George not giving us a meeting. A lot can also change in a year. Hope he's a Laker at some point

In addition to the Pelicans and Warriors, Dwight Howard is interested in returning to the Lakers, according to Sam Amick. "He’d like to play with LeBron [James]," Amick said on The HoopsHype Podcast. "That’s definitely on his radar." It's unclear if the interest is mutual.
