Hell, the final few house shows in Toronto leading up to Bret's departure, SCSA was getting pops of the night, as long as he wasn't beating on Bret, lol. I remember one House Show he rocked stunners on Owen, Bulldog and Anvil (Bret left the ring to avoid getting hit with one) and the crowd lost their mind. That US/Canada shyt was thrown out the window. Austin never attacked Canada in the storyline anyway so he didn't have that patriotic heat against him.

I think that Hogan nostalgia would have kicked rocks at WM18 and people would have wanted to see Austin lay an ass whooping on Hulk. Especially if the backstage politics between the two were well known, can't recall if they were at the time. Worst case it would have been 50/50 but 100/0 when that Stunner were to hit. #believedat

Even though Austin and Hogan are the two biggest pro wrestlers of all time, I don't think a match and storyline between the two is as intriguing as a lot of other people do. I think Rock/Hogan was perfect and works much better.

Austin vs Hogan is the biggest match in wrestling history. They both did the most for the business and watching wwf and wcw during the monday night wars that was the dream match that everyone wanted. Also I don't think Austin would have been boo'd like the Rock was. (Was austin ever boo'd as a face?)
The crowd reaction would've been interesting, they also wouldn't of had to get rid of the nwo either.
