It’s because no one wants to see him shooting a bunch of 3s. He was getting heat for his spectacular plays at the rim on offense and defense along with his mid range game. He was a fixture on NBA instagram getting the most likes.

Ja was on the same ascending run for the same reasons until he got suspended.
Stop purporting this nonsense. You literally made this bullshyt up in your head.

haven't heard much from Ant this season

numbers look good and he's shooting 42% from 3 on almost 11 attempts

he's just gone unnoticed
Brotha, we just started December, the season is just over a quarter way through. Unless someone has done something drastically different to what they did last season, then by that note they would've gone largely "unnoticed". If we wanna be real with it, it's got nothing to do with Ant, in isolation, but more to do with the fact that the T'Wolves have been trending down and the bigger story is KAT in NY.

The T'Wolves were the #3 seed last season and went to the WCF, so it's only natural to think that Ant should've become more of a central figure in NBA discourse this season (mirroring his rise into superstardom), but the T'Wolves have been struggling to keep their heads above the surface for a play-in spot and thus has affected Ant's spot in the spotlight.

Nobody is really going to talk about a player not really moving the needle on a team that's struggling to play .500 ball (in Minnesota of all places).

LOOKS LIKE HES PLAYING SOFT.

ALL OF THAT ATHLETICISM
BUT ONLY SHOOTING 4 FT PER GAME.

EVEN THOUGH HES SHOOTING GREAT
FROM THE 3 HES NOT MAXIMIZING
HIS TALENT.

DUDE SHOULD BE AVERAGING
30 INSTEAD OF 26 CONSIDERING
HES TAKING 20 SHOTS
AND SHOOTING SO WELL FROM THE 3.

DAME AVERAGING 26 ON 17 SHOTS
AND HAS A LOWER EFG% THAN ANT.

Is it made up though? The casual fan is trying to see Ant throw it down and attack at will. We don’t want to see him play like Curry even though he’s shooting great. So if we aren’t gonna talk about a player on a bad team then why was Melo getting so much attention and love?

It is made up.

And Ant can still attack the rim and shoot 3s. They're not mutually exclusive. Or are you going to tell me if Ant was shooting more middies, casuals would be paying more attention?

If the T'Wolves were a top seed and had continue to rise from their WCF appearance last season, there'd be more talk about him, but since they've seemingly gone in the opposite direction, there's nothing to talk about. Other players/teams who're doing better have taken the spotlight. Casual fans aren't going to check into T'Wolves games if they're losing or they're not playing to expectations (if they were seen as a potential contender coming into the season).

More to that point -

Ant is shooting more 3s this season largely out of necessity because KAT is no longer there. The same floor spacing doesn't exist like it did last season with Randle instead. Opportunities to drive to the rim are less frequent for Ant going from playing alongside the best spacing big in the league to someone who wants to play bully ball in the paint.

You can blame it on Randle for Ant not dunking more.

Melo was a legend playing in NY.

It ain't hard to see why he was getting attention/love.

And like I said, we're just over a quarter way through the season, the dust needs to settle before players/teams start to get noticed and talked about.

Melo as in LaMelo. Hornets were losing but all eyes were on him when he was healthy. Even though he’s shooting 12 3s a game, he was playing a diff type of game. Ant has gotten away from that.

Because there really isn't leap with Edwards, dude is putting up the same numbers he did the past few years just jacking more 3's. And twolves barely a .500 team.

All this talk of having next etc., haven't seen it yet. Breh's impact is like Cam thomas :mjlit: both avg the same pretty much and team records not that far off

Antman admitted to talking to Durant and Durant told him to expand his range and take care of his health.

Edwards efficiency has benefited from it

Well, there's two parts to this -

First of which, Melo went from averaging 24 ppg last season to 31 ppg this season, so naturally, there's going to be more eyes on him given that leap in production. Whereas Ant is pretty much averaging the same amount of points as he did last season, which is notably less than Melo. If Ant had the same relative increase in ppg, regardless of what kind of shots he was taking, then there'd be more eyes on him.

The second of which I stated in my previous post - Ant has had to change his style of play because playing with KAT is different to playing with Randle.

One of these days we're going to get you to acknowledge how much of a cancer Randle is.

All you talk about is social media when nba ratings get brought up. Now you want to ignore that it was his high light reel dunks and blocks that blew up on Instagram that made him popular. Now he’s just another 3 point shooter.
