Quoting statistics and headlines is an oversimplification of the issue.
The lines of what is overweight, obese and what caused it are too complicated to boil it down to people just being lazy.
Sure your lifestyle plays a big part in your weight, but to ignore the other contributing factors is very misguided.
The contributing factors are food, period.
The fact the most populous region on earth doesn't have similar statistics says enough. It's not oversimplification when you compare two different populations and one of them has stats that are insane outliers, especially when the two other populations are much much larger.
The fact China's stats aren't similar to ours says enough, if it were truly genetics & metabolism their statistics would skew towards ours but they dont. It's food and activity level, that is the major cause.
