a recruiter hit me up, gave me good feedback then ghosted the hell out of me it seems.

I used to work in the IT dept. of a recruiter. Couple tips when dealing with them..

Don't give them feedback of your interview (or just make shyt up) they go and feed this info to candidates they think can defo get the job

Never tell them where you got interviews, they WILL call the companies and try to muscle in with their own candidates

Whenever you have an offer, always mention you go others and you will have a think (even if you dont) but never tell em where for... the money usually increases then :russ:

They literally used to have a training document for new recruits called "recruitment dark arts" where they had all kinds of fukkery to secure they sales, im sure i saved it on my one my computers, if i find it, i'll upload for yall, its crazy

Finally got my foot in the door brehs :blessed: Healthcare IT, no certs :wow: I'm thinking it's wise to stay in this lane... Both fields are crucial these days so the next question is what do I specialize in :jbhmm: I'm leaning towards Databases. Any suggestions on the best cert track to take?
How did you get in?

Doing shyt on my own, making projects and putting them out there. I was fortunate to get noticed by some heavy hitters in different fields of society. Even with that it wasn't easy, it took a minute. I'm not doing anything wild though... just helpdesk type shyt

Took my first cert L, after all these years:wow:. Failed the data privacy exam. Going to focus on the CISA instead and push that back towards end of 2020. CISA is more in demand. For anyone planning to take it.

Focus on the minor details in the book and honestly, it's most scenario base question and picking the best answer out of good answers so it may take some experience working in the field. It's also very hard to find simulation exam on the web. lol still going to put it on my linkedin since I can talk about it all day.

Thinking of trying to get my CCENT by the 4th of January 2020. I have a bit of knowledge on some of the topics from the intro to networking class I took already. I picked up a few video courses and will probably get Boson. Any recommendations for other tools/resources I could use?

What's your current role and what interests you the most in IT? I know you are new but do you know what EHR/EMR you guys are working with?

I just found this channel and it look to have a ton of Cisco material. I haven't done any Cisco Networking in years and figured why not jump back into it. He's even got full courses he sells on Udemy.

I'm support, I don't wanna say the name but our EMR is sort of an in-house company that provides service to others. Databases seem the most interesting so far. Networking seems boring, Security isn't really my cup of tea... plus I have my own projects that I can apply the DB knowledge to

I can't really help too much with databases. I took a few SQL classes years ago but never was in a position to use the knowledge. I do know DBAs are always needed especially in a healthcare environment. All that data needs to be stored, maintained, and accessed in s timely manner and the DBAs are the ones that keep it functioning properly.

Recruiters are fukking trash. Times 10 if they are Indian.

You are better off directly applying for a company on the website or getting a internal referral.

I referred David Bombal to someone earlier in this thread; they said they ain't like his voice :yeshrug:

His material is A1 tho. I finished his ansible class and I'm halfway through his python class.
