Woke up last week and said screw this shyt about my current job. I always liked working with computers and troubleshooting stuff. I already went to school and got a BAS degree with a minor in Computer Science. This was the first job I got out of school and it made more than I was making so I stuck with it. I'm now stacking up paper at my current job so when I inevitably quit it to switch career fields into IT I can live comfortably making less money. I've got about enough money now that if I lived frugally I could live a year and a half with no job but I feel like I should stack much more.

I'm just tired of doing all this dirty work in the cable industry. Crawling through crawl spaces and under trailers gets old and the routing is a nightmare. I'm supposed to be a business class tech but I mostly do residential jobs. Anyways I've reached the limits of what my employer is willing to pay somebody to do this job. It's not even that I need the money at this point but I want more for myself than doing this.

Gonna look through this thread to see where to get started but I'm guessing an A+ cert is the beginning.

People here are legit sharing six figure knowledge. You just have to be willing to put in the time to self learn and dedicate yourself to it. It also helps if it's something you are passionate. You will take Ls but once you get that opportunity you gotta keep your foot on the peddle.

I dont mind sharing because a breh at my gym put me on too. I thought I had made it making 72k a year but he was telling me I am wasting time. Then he started telling me how much he is making...and I didn't believe him lol. I was like no way companies are paying that type of bag but breh was living in one expensive ass high rise apartment so I took his advise and started putting in work myself and eventually the door opened after a series of L.

I've put older brehs on to IT certs and I still ain't got my A+.
Ok you can't get everyone on to IT. The hood always going to exist and many other factors. Do y'all but damn.
