if China kicks in the door and comes to help Iran then they will be in a position
to have access to cheap oil from Iran. Oil is something their manufacturing is in desperate need of.
it would also secure them a spot on the international stage as a shot caller.

as far as the US not getting involved, i can't see the US at least not giving tactical support as far as satellite info to the Israelis.
they may even let them use any of the dozens of bases that we have all around Iran.
