I think a scoring center might be a bigger need. Clearly getting someone like Cousins is the ideal but extremely unlikely. Maybe Brook Lopez.

I've given up on the Cousins shyt, the Kings are gonna hold on to him for as long as they can. And the Nets aren't gonna deal with us in any fashion.

If they want a big that can score and rebound, Monroe would probably be the best target if you can deal with his defensive shortcomings.

Maybe Okafor might be an option. You guys are in serious need of a scorer in the paint.

He won't be as much of a liability with Horford protecting him.

Not liking this Amir/Al tandem. Reminds me of when we had Zaza/Al. That never worked. Al works best when he has someone who can handle the offensive load next to him in the paint than when he has a non-offensive player.

I am not so sure Milwaukee will trade him. Monroe is really good off the bench for them. Once they get Middleton back, it should open up things.

Based on that description Olynyk would be the best fit but he's still a few weeks away from coming back

Kenneth Faried might be a good trade target. He's been popping up in trade rumors now and he lost his starting job. I'd imagine their price isn't going to be that high.

I always thought he was under-appreciated.

For me, we need one of Cousins, Okafor, or Griffin. Noel would be a good look too but I'd prefer somebody who can score in loads.

Horford is an improvement for us but we're not contending for a chip as are. Still, I see us as a top 3 team that'll force our way to the ECF

The East while stronger than the West last year was still weak. Hawks had one of the worst wings in the NBA last year and damn near won the SE conference. This year, you gonna have to earn 50 wins or close to it

Looks like Smart will be a go for Wednesday against Chicago. Bad shooting and all, this is gonna be huge for the bench

"“With James, with that fourth year, we just want to wait and see how he progresses in this third year,” Ainge said Tuesday. “It’s a big year for James, but I really like where he is. As a person and a player, he’s made great strides and is becoming more of a pro all the time.”

Ainge said that Young was at the gym from 7 to about 9 p.m. Monday, long after Boston’s practice had ended. During that time Young and Ainge also sat down and discussed the team’s decision not to pick up the $2.8 million 2017-18 option.

Ainge made it clear that it does not mean Young’s time in Boston is finished. The Celtics could still sign him — for no more than the salary he was slotted to receive in his rookie deal — but before even reaching that point, they will need to see more.

“I mean, listen, James has plenty of examples of guys it was a great blessing to not get their contract extended, right?” Ainge said, meaning that Young could perform well and earn a hefty payday elsewhere. “So I think he understands it. He gets it. He understands it’s an important year regardless of whether we did or we didn’t. So, yeah, he took it in a good way.”
"

Ainge gives reasons for not exercising options on Young, Olynyk - The Boston Globe
