So the Deathrow label blows up off the backs of Dr. Dre, Snoop, and Suge. Meanwhile Warren G is who brought Snoop to Dre. He also has claimed to bring and help produce songs on the Chronic and Doggystyle. He always gives Dre the credit for taking whatever and making it do what it do tho.

Ok so they don't sign him and he produces songs for the Poetic Justice sdtk. Indo Smoke is the lead single for that SDK

It's a classic and even played in the background of a Doggystyle skit. He is also on one of the more iconic songs on Doggystyle "Ain't no fun" and when you listen you can tell it's a Warren G type production just cleaned by Dre.
He ends up at Def Jam during the height of the Westcoast G-Funk era. Then releases....

It's chosen as a single for another 2pac movie, and a Deathrow sdtk, and is killing it in 94.
Then he released his Def Jam backed debut album and sells damn near as much as Snoop and is widely credited as being an important reason why Def Jam was able to survive at that time.

Why does he get slept on soo much??

from your own description he kinda stopped the outstanding contributions in 94 - mid 90s, that could be a big reason in my opinion

for me he still put out the last nate dogg song i loved so props to him for that

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Warren behind the boards > his cousin

And “take a look over your shoulder” is like a critic in a sewer…

Underrated.

Album hardly has any skips aside from
Its lead single. Always despised Shot the Sheriff.

Didnt check out the album damn near over 20 years later because of it.

Warren was in his producerial
Bag for sure.

And cant forget these loosie goosies/soundtrack cuts/etc.

Smoothest beats in recorded music history.

If this is California centric, I’d have to say Daz is probably more slept on. Warren G was celebrated as much as he should have been. Regulate was and is celebrated around the world.

Daz had his hands and mind in so much for so much behind the scenes, and made aesthetically great and timeless albums with countless dope singles going under the radar.

I would even call Daz the king of underground producers even though he’s been around the mainstream. He’ll still randomly drop dope music featuring random crips that just happened to be smoking in the studio lol.
