Is this the most ass backwards decision you've ever seen?

Nah makes sense if he bets on himself , better team with better future outlook. he will be a fa by 32 versus 33 under a dying roster. With new money going up he wants to be a fa by 31 imo for a new contract. Hope he has a player option in year 4

This only makes sense if the contract was like 4 years for 40 million compared to 3 years for 33 million or something.

The other contract is DOUBLE the amount for 1 more year.

Hes not getting $30 million for 1 more year of playing after his new contract at that age even if balls out

Thank you! I was about to say... homie turned down $13m/year for $8m/year. That's a 39% reduction. Ain't no "master play" when you're giving up that much.

Dude fukked around and played himself.

He's not getting a new contract at 33 years old, it's a gamble on himself especially if the 4th is a player option.

Look at it as 8mm a year vs 13

That is a major loss either way you cut it.

$8m a year for 4 years, as opposed to $13m per year, means that he loses $20m after 4 years.

At 32 years old, his next contract would have to make up for this $20m loss, plus the $13m lost by not taking the 5-year contract. That's a hole of $33m.

:francis: it's not a gamble on himself. It's accepting whatever he could get because he fumbled.
