10+ years of cutting promos and never ONCE did he have notes on his wrist (if he did one camera would have picked it up), all of a sudden he does randomly one week, fukking clear as day right for the camera to see like he wasn't even tried to hide it, don't think that's a little coincidental breh?
It was all just done so Cena could "shoot" and make the feud seem more real and legit, and maybe even to get some fans on Cena's side.
But like you said, purely speculation. Rock even commented on this on Twitter a couple of years back, and the sarcasm made me think it was a work.

There is no discussion without the Rock, Young C00n. You should of understood that by now. Cena copied him...Cripple H copied him...he eradicated Michaels...punked out Hall, Nash, Bret...defecated on Hogan...destroyed Austin without trying...made Vince best promo look like garbage...ended Billy Gunn...showed Goldberg wasn't in his league...spat on Chyna's credibility at will...decimated Jericho like it was nothing...made Regal look like a joke...had Punk in tears over a tweet response and popping shyt and apologising on the podcast like a ready made bytch after talking tough. Who wrote that for Punk or was that for show?The Rock is the Michael Jordan of pro wrestling...he did it faster, bigger and better than anyone else. Bruno...Andre..Hogan...Flair...no one got to his level in 3 years from the day they were trained.

this has always been one of, if not my favorite savage promo
savage always had his great turn of phrases and vein bulging intensity cutting his shyt into the camera backstage, you always knew what you were getting - which makes it more badass to see him handle his shyt inches away from a dude's face, in front of a red hot crowd no less
Go to 4:50 brehs, straight cuts Warrior's gibberish short - no catchphrases needed here, his delivery is pure fire, enough to make "I know who I am....I'm the World Wrestling Federation Champ - AND YOU'RE NOT" one of the memorable lines in wrestling in my opinion.
Not saying anyone can pull off Savage's delivery specifically, no way - but modern wrestlers don't dare raise their voices anywhere close to this level, it's one of the bigger pet peeves of mine in today's WWE. If you've got the voice for it and the words to deliver that's just old fashioned wrestling gold. There are a couple guys with the old school pipes, I can tell, they oughta sit down and think of some badass lines and cut loose.

got guys out here calling themselves the Lunatic Fringe and the most heated they get is mumbling off rhythm while rolling their neck, maybe stick out their tongue and pace around half the ring a little smh
