At least this means we’ll be in full development mode. Between him and Rashad Vaughn (Who I think is a lowkey great pickup for us because he has natural scoring feel in the half-court), I gotta admit that I still think we’re really great judges of under the radar talent.

Makes sense, tho. Cheap contract for a roster spot filler. It's a 2-year contract so that gives us early bird rights if he blows up like WhiteSide did + it's a short contract so very easy to be packaged in any trade.

Our dilemma is simple: We need to find someone to take TJ's contract off our hands. That alone gives us $19M of cap space freed up. Most elite players nowadays will cost you in the $27M range and that's really just the starting point.

Despite what some may say Olynyk, Waiters and James Johnson's contracts arent awful contracts. It's just that all of them together on our books combined with TJ's and Whiteside's untradeable contracts make our situation worst. Trust me when you look around the league you have plenty of players on various teams making more than Waiters that you wouldnt want on your bench. George Hill, Kent Bazemore, Luol Deng, JR Smith, Marvin Williams, Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah and many more making at least $3M more than Waiters and I'd take Waiters over any of them clowns at this point of their careers.

All we can pray for is that we are able to move TJ and/or Whiteside's contract without having to take one of those shytty contracts in return

Yeah, I honestly like the Jones signing. I mean it's not the sexiest but we need all the athleticism we can get. He def gave us a spark when he started those few games in the middle of the season.

Don't even mind keeping Hassan or his contract at this point but that TJ contract gotta go...
