this is such a broad exaggeration, and I'm sick of seeing it. SNL has been hit or miss since day 1, you ever watch those "golden Belushi years?" they suck. Every episode has at least 1 good sketch, and the Weekend Update snark is usually on point, but their bad sketches are just so much worse than the good ones are good... does that make sense?
The cast right now isn't bad at all. When Sudekis and Hader leave it will be a problem though. The 3 new girls are actually very good imo, but there's no breakout male star in the cast right now once those 2 leave. Moynahan and Killam aren't going to be big stars, and Jay Pharaoah is Michael Winslow without the sound effects.
The new dude Tim Robinson has such a weird face that he migiht actually blow up. I can see him getting bit roles in a ton of movies down the line because he's so damn funny looking.
Kenan and Armesin are just biding their time, they gotta go soon.
Nasim Pedrad is really cute, but her voice and characters are really annoying and they barely use her. Vanessa Bayer is goofy, awful, and arguably the worst performer on the show.
