car colors have def been getting more boring, i think this is cause the middle class has been getting poorer. that's a large segment that can no longer afford a second toy car, one they'd want to imprint their personality on. instead they go for one they see as an appliance/utility item, and you might as well get that in a boring/inexpensive color.
