We're in the age of minimalism. A bit of an over correction. I think some people do minimalism for a while then realize how unsustainable and bland it is and go towards maximalism. Ebbs and flows.

While I lean a bit minimalist because some of my family hoards, I do like artwork, plants, and other "non essentials" to liven my living space. I think many milleneals are tired of minimalism

I'm tired of that gentrification gray color scheme they keep putting in new homes:scusthov:

Man depictions of the distant future, or advanced civilizations (even alien civilizations in fiction) tend to have people in a lot of grays/white/black plain colors. It's pretty wild. There's often times very little use of the rest of the color spectrum.

Even the whole "Roswell grays" aliens are of that tone. I think people just tend to think that its 'modern' in some way.
