We're in the age of minimalism. A bit of an over correction. I think some people do minimalism for a while then realize how unsustainable and bland it is and go towards maximalism. Ebbs and flows.

While I lean a bit minimalist because some of my family hoards, I do like artwork, plants, and other "non essentials" to liven my living space. I think many milleneals are tired of minimalism

Well you have to keep in mind a lot of those fast food places had to mute their colors because they aren't supposed to directly advertise to children. That's part of the reason why none of those places have mascots anymore.

Things aren't as "vibrant' anymore. We live in this "modern" era where everything is white, grey to look sleek lol

Man depictions of the distant future, or advanced civilizations (even alien civilizations in fiction) tend to have people in a lot of grays/white/black plain colors. It's pretty wild. There's often times very little use of the rest of the color spectrum.

Even the whole "Roswell grays" aliens are of that tone. I think people just tend to think that its 'modern' in some way.
