This is what happens when you join the street life. People treat you like robots and expect you to be an emotionless gangster your whole life. Especially black men.The black community spends so much time glorifying counterproductive shyt like a street code. Part of the reason we can’t protect our communities is because you got civilians talking about “snitching. We’re 400+ years behind playing catch up and this is the shyt we’re worried about?
He was among those who pushed that shyt.

Dude made his career off of the super trill street cat image that was with the shyt and selling coke by the boatload which indirectly caused many young black men that looked up to him to either die in the process trying to live out his lyrics or get locked up. But now that he made his millions poisoning the mind of black people and now makes burgers and is a professor; dudes are going to act stupid and pretend to not know WHY people are going to look at him sideways in this situation:comeon:.

Had this been lupe or Tyler the creator or childish Gambino or something no one would care but it being him is just ironic because of what he used to represent just until about 10 years ago or so.

:dahell:
Bun probably gets AARP magazines in the mail, and is long retired from rapping like that. He’ll be aight.

He's a rapper, they worship him, so they will give him a pass and act like they don't understand why some people are bothered by this.

Bun B should be logic and denounce all the crap he rapped about and pushed during his career.

He’s moved on to something so much more positive. I don’t think he’s spit an angry verse in more than a decade.

:manny:
He’s being the change he wanted to see.
Of course, he made his bag by pushing bullshyt, and now he removes himself from it.
There is something very cynical about a lot of the rappers.

What would you have him do? Not learn from his mistakes, spend the rest of his life crashing out?

“Ridin Dirty” dropped when I was 10/11 years old. I consumed it as entertainment then and still do now. Nothing in my current life resembles the words bun and p artistically wrote. If there’s anything cycnical it’s the parents of someone who really could be personally influenced by something like that.

You’re supposed to get old and cringe at things you did in your youth. He made it this far and now you sound angry at him for growing into something else, which is exactly what it sounds like you really want him to do.

So are a lot of other people they call snitches. Bun B isnt a snitch, but this is another case of nikkas making exceptions for those they like.
Name the rappers who have completely divorced themselves from: any sort of street life, associations, making street music or street business and activities but then told and were labeled snitches? Bun B has been a proud square and a professor for a while now.

Brehs were even making fun of him for the Colgate commercial, years ago. It was already established who he became. Why the fake outrage now? :unimpressed:

Ppl on the Coli were literally mocking him for becoming a square becuse of that Colgate commercial years. Now they wanna act all outraged because he testified in court? :mjlol:

I don’t get it. I thought we all agreed Bun has dissociated himself from that past and made that transition. How can someone be deemed a square but still expected to uphold streer code?

He pushed life experiences and no longer pushed it when he was in different circumstances. What a insane concept. :ohhh:

Pocket Full Of Stones was 30yrs ago. When he was in his 20s. Insane! :ohhh:
