Funny enough, croc was originally planned to be a Yoshi game for the N64. Nintendo rejected it but used the camera system in Mario 64.

9" screen and glasses display? That's fire. And it plays all Windows games. :ehh:

The Cult of Mario strong in here though. :russ:

Nintendo will continue to be seen as the default electronic babysitter device manufacturer by parents of young kids. So Nintendo has that crowd on lock. For gamers looking for a portable or secondary console to their PC, Xbox, or PS5, Switch 2 has serious competition. Switch 2 will no doubt sell in big numbers but will not outsell Switch 1. PC handheld devices like the Steam Deck has a vastly larger library of games, the games are much cheaper, and all but guaranteed to work on future hardware. While Nintendo has the most expensive game library over time and no guarantee they will work on future hardware. Super Mario Odyssey costs $59 right now, 6 years after release.

over time their non-competitive pricing will push more people away, as people discover they can get those games by other means. the last few big Nintendo releases were leaked early via emulators

I agree that the Switch (2) will stay on top, but it's a different landscape now, and Nintendo might have to reevaluate their strategies to stay competitive

Did it really hurt those titles?

You underestimate convenience.

Most People don't wanna go through the trouble to pirate.

The ones that do, already were going to

key part of what I said is "over time". more and more people are seeing emulation/piracy as an alternative, and at some point there could be a tipping point where it does hurt those titles. you're right that some people will pirate regardless, but my point is Nintendo pushes more people towards it by keeping their prices so high

The ones who see the alternative were already tech savvy...majority still won't do it cause it takes too much time

Nintendo the apple of gaming...the faithful will follow them til death.
