As much as folks shyt on it, I thought that was dope that the Last Jedi brought that back full circle and that was the last thing Luke saw before he died

Nah. Episodes 1 & 2 are the worst in the series. You could skip both of those movies and start at Episode III and still get the gist of what's going on.
Because 4,5,6 are the originals from the 70’s and 80’s when Darth Varder and The emperor already ran the galaxy and Luke became the strong Jedi to defeat them. Episodes 1,2,3 are from 99 & early 00’s and it starts from the beginning when anakin (Darth Vader) was a little boy who became a top Jedi then turned into Darth Vader, and the emperor at the time was just a low level politician who manipulated his way to the top through politics and Sith Lords.
