Read "The Power of Now." and "The Secret."

Good books that will help you out alot brody. Ive been there bruh. I wasn't suicidal but still depression sucks. You just gotta take it one day at a time fam and understand that the universe responds to the energy you give it. Instead of trying to be successful try to become the man you want to be. Keep ya head up bruh. Dont quit, it can only get better.

P.S. cop a cannibus card and smoke some loud from time to time.

I hope you have people that support you. I've been semi there- and a few siblings have been worse- one is in prison. She didn't listen to the people that were there. Pride stood in the way. If there is a glimmer of a person that believes in you... take it. Swallow pride.

If you don't have that- know that there are many people dealing, and willing to talk and not talk shyt like some. Depression is real.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Stop comparing your life to others, and stop thinking of life in a success or fail window. All you should be concerned about is being happy, for all you know those very same people you look at and think are doing well could be miserable even with all their success.

Get yourself into a routine, even if it's something like going to the gym 4 days a week. Develop a pattern somewhere to help yourself, I suggest the gym because it gives you an attainable goal, a pattern and it helps get you into the mindset of working hard. Try volunteering, not to make yourself feel better but so you can help others who may feel the same way as you. You're alive and not in prison for life, so your life can be "fixed".

Depression sucks. It can break you if you let it. I've been there before and I'm still recovering. The key for me was to just accept where i was in life. Regretting things you may or may not have done does nothing for you. You can not change the past but the future is still there for you. Realize that whatever you are going through will pass. Go for a long walk in the morning or do something that you normally don't do during the day. The best thing to do is try to break your daily routine and give yourself a chance to make a change. Remember you have the power to change whatever situation you are in with time and acceptance of what is going on.

Lots of good advice in this thread. Some of the things here I've heard directly from my therapist.

how old are you.

You need a support system. Keeping emotions to yourself won't help your situation.

Find someone to talk to. I prefer you find a local church and find a productive hobby.

Go down to the VA or just call and ask them to help you. Be honest. Tell them what you are feeling and ask. What they can do for you. Take a walk in the morning. Or do some push ups get those chemicals in your brain moving. Take your medication. If it's not working call the doctor that gave it to you and be honest and tell them it's not working and they can adjust the dosage. Take some multi-vatimins with some B 12 in them, it's for energy so you can do stuff. Clean your room really nice and it'll give you a sense of accomplishment even if you don't leave the house you can feel like you accomplished something that day. Try to find a support group in your area with people that are dealing with depression, they'll be able to give you tips.

Google depression forum, there are good ones with people that deal with depression

^Exactly. Sitting around and just thinking about things is the worst possible thing you can do.

There is no cure for depression, so fukk the medication. It may mask the feeling but it won't ever get to the root of the problem. Plus if you find yourself in a situation where you can't afford the medication, you're screwed and the come down is AWFUL. A few things that have helped me are:

- Changing my diet. Focusing on fresh foods and eating less processed foods. It's not really about losing weight or anything like that but processed foods/fast foods are garbage. Garbage in. Garbage out.

-Exercising everyday. I prefer in the morning and at minimum I'll do 30 minutes.

-Setting goals. Short term and Long term.

Take some time to figure out where you want to be and then you can start researching the steps you need to take to get there.
