They're making bank off of the MCU and they basically have Spidey back. Plus with the all fukkery that went on with the new F4 movie i'm surprised they still don't own them or at least some of the X-Men. Imagine Avengers & X-Men Team up :ohlawd::mjcry: Fox must be asking for billions :mjlol:

why would Fox sell back the rights? Sony was barely breaking even on Spidey which is why they gave up. no matter how you feel about the X-Men movies, they all make money for Fox:yeshrug:

And that's only because of Sony's incompetence. They should've been making big money off the Spider-Man movie franchise.

Naw, i'm being serious. I thought about it when I thinking about the characters that are going to be missing in the Civil War movie

You can't buy what's not for sale breh, it's as simple as that. They sold their properties years ago and why would a studio sell them back to them? If I'm Fox, there's no way I'm selling it and even with Sony, they still get all the benefits from a money standpoint for this partnership. The only way for them to get properties back in full is for studios to not do anything with the properties but do you really see that happening? Fox has got at least four x men movies coming: apocalypse, 3rd wolverine movie, deadpool and the new mutants...oh and gambit.

And again, sony still reaps the monetary benefit from it. Marvel gets no cut of the profits from the new movie or any upcoming movie so it's a win win for both studios. And according to Feige and Whedon, they were talking about doing this back in 2010 or 2011 before amazing spider-man came out so this wasn't just a "we're barely breaking even" thing...they wanted a piece of the pie

When a Captain America movie makes just as much as X-Men and more than Spider-man why even bother?

GOTG did better than X-Men and Spider-Man last year. Marvel don't need to get them back.

There such things as CONTRACTS breh. Most of these contracts state that Studio A has to have a movie in production every so often for these characters before the rights revert back to Marvel. It happened with Daredevil and Blade, and I think it was CLOSE to happening with FF4 but Fox got Trank and put the reboot into production before the deadline.

X-Men will probably NEVER go back to Marvel, it's a bonfide cash cow.

Spider-Man will probably NEVER completely go back to Marvel. Sony's pure and utter incompetence had them begging for Marvel's help and I'm sure Kevin Feige knew that, Spider-Man being one of their Crown Characters it would behoove them to help pull him out of mediocrity hell.

I'm going based off the leaked emails

And good LORD if those two ASM's weren't the definition of mediocre. Garfield was the best thing about those flicks they made the Sam Raimi trilogy look like the fukking Godfather

true but I'm going off of Whedon
Nvm brehs, didn't know Marvel got properties everywhere. Even Universal has one :wtf:

They were going bankrupt in the 90s breh, they became their own publisher company which they never should've done and once the comic book bubble bursts, they lost a lot of money so they sold properties to studios to make movies
