Is there a movie/show that you've tried to watch repeatedly but just cant finish

all the spy crap just killed it for me
even though it shook things up quite a bit and the show was less formulaic
it was at "the Following" level of the FBI and police just making stupid decisions

the Following for the reason stated above only watched season one

true blood - have not seen the final season

Also, I've watched all three LOTR movies and fell asleep several times on each one. 9 hours of movie took me no less that 20 hours to watch
