Have you noticed that no one is really impressed with these consoles anymore? No feature gets people excited or do they really feel the need to predict the potential of a certain function. It wasn't that way when the Wii was in development or the PS3. We spend more time on debating what they won't do (BC) and trying to predict and justify these high ass console prices, the consoles themselves are an after thought, partly do to the companies keeping everything under wraps and partly because most gamers know we have reach the limit of innovation. These next consoles are just more of what we already have.

This is in my opinion the last generation of gaming as we know it, casual gamers have already killed it, the whole "share" button thing from Sony's announcement all but proved that to me. So much time wasted on the media aspects were going to be instead of really showing us what the PS4 was capable of.

I actually think PC gamers will win this generation with that Steam box, no one is paying a G for it but somewhere down the line after a few price drops, hardcore gamers will convert over since I doubt there will be many IPs to keep people on the console landscape.

Used to be a hardcore gamer, but when some heads start talking about graphics and bullshyt games over quality gameplay and original games, I fear for the future.

Nintendo needs to make software, not hardware. Just like Sega. I fell into both these nikkas traps, didn't cop a ps2 to get that shytty Sega console whose name I won't mention, didn't cop the 360 to get the Wii :whoa:
You nikkas though I would fell into another trap? I pay my shyt now nikkas :umad::pacspit:

Lol @ Dreamcast being wack. For a system that died early it was GOAT status with original games. SEGA is a true innovator. Shame that people hate them and Nintendo.

Nah. Wii U is just something that's primarily a gaming machine...with no games.

this is very true, but IMO the launch wasnt as bad as most people make it out to be. if a new system drops with assassins creed, cod, and arkham city, people would say it was the goat launch lineup....the only problem was that people that would play those games already owned systems that they could play them on so they were not about to drop another 350 on a system. the only one people couldnt really was mario, and to many a 2d platform isnt something to buy a system for these days. people will cop when mario kart and smash bros drops, but that will probably also coincide with the first price drop of the system, around fall

I actually think it is unless either system shows why they differentiate from the previous gens. Prettier graphics isn't going to get it done in 2013

Nope.
The Wii U actually sold a decent amount of units. Their problem is that they do not have a huge release right now(or any notable games for that matter). It should also be noted that the marketing for the console has been lack luster.
I think the Wii U will be fine though. They have a lot of good games on the horizon. They just have to figure out how to deal with these dry spells that happen between their exclusives. That's what really hurt their last console and why it got the dust collector label.

the sales are a bit useless at this point. typically, a successful console would be hindered by the inability to meet demand, so sales would be lower than potential. remember how hard it was to get a wii for a long ass time? in reality, the wii would have sold at an even higher rate if manufacturing was up to demand

wii u has product collecting dust in stores. their level of demand is pretty terrible, and their marketing cant improve because they have no games worthy of spending 300+. they dont have casual appeal to sell gimmicks to anymore, and the hardcore cant be easily lied to, so there is very little they can do about marketing right now.

It is a sign. I don't think this upcoming generation will sell as this previous one. Its just a sign of the times.

I think Nintendo goes completely handheld after the Wii U

Maybe u should get more than one software..and Dreamcast did shyt first that this generation considers vital for gameplay....and had alotta great games...Sega just cut themselves too thin by the time it dropped...and I agree..the Wii was terrible overall...

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
Nintendo stayed alive because of gimmicky ass Wii motion... They stopped giving a fukk about new gaming IPs back in the 64 days... Wii motion got played out.. This is why they struggle

Xbox360 kept themselves alive (or at least ahead of ps3 in sales) buy putting out gimmicky Kinect.. Now what happens when nikkas get tired of Kinect?? now Kinect finna be built into all 720s... Now we know this gimmick shyt is what 720 will most likely focus on..

Which leaves the gawd system PS4.....Now
Sony has put focus on putting out new IPs above everything else every gen... This will carry on into the next gen... Sony wont be affected. .. fukk a Wii. .. We got a system thats simple enough for lazy developers to adapt to... We got the Ram... We got the Kinnect Jr.. That will most likely just be an optional accessory... We got the new sexy interface... We got wireless controllers wit no batteries :heh: And if we still have free online gaming, its a wrap brehs.. And don't let Sony allow us to snatch most of our data from the PS3... at this point anyone not fukking wit the 4 is doing so just outa spite

Motion sensor gaming is the way to bring in casuals, that's what the Wii-mote and Kinect has going for it. The Wii-U makes no sense in the trend of gaming..you have one of the most successful next-gen consoles (original Wii) and you dump the remote and the motion sensor aspect and come with a new controller that doesn't make sense. Nintendo actaully believes controller innovation would drive sales, instead of understanding that people want (for most parts) controllerless simplicity. The wii-mote was simple and only had a few buttons and that's what made it popular.

There's no lull in gaming, most casual gamers don't want 30 buttons to play a game. They want a pick up and play gaming unit.
