No lie I forgot all about Watson but I think even with him there was valid reason to pay dude. Ignoring the allegations since they obviously didn't care about them.

It actually looks better because of that. We barely talk about this deal because San Fran got their franchise QB. They could've had Sam Darnold(weeks 1-17 this season notwithstanding) back there

They seriously should’ve sold high on Purdy and recouped a 1st round pick or two right after that bowl appearance. Shanahans system breeds “system qb’s” and to get to the playoffs in the NFC his team only needs league average qb play. Now, you have a gutted 9’ers roster devoid of talent in a ton of spots, and a qb you are now forced to pay even though he’s not even top 5
