I wish people would stop using it to be honest. This and the DDT were supposed to be devastating moves that made you wonder if the guy might have hurt or dropped him for real on accident.

Now NXT got a gay dude on that that does a cartwheel off the top rope into a DDT. That is ridiculous.

There's still DDT and Super Kick finishers.

It's not 1988 or 1996 anymore so the "devastation" of these moves have diminished like most moves.

No it's the powerbomb. All the allure of the piledriver without 80% of the danger. Nothing more wrestling than the setup(kick to the gut and posturing). Gives a clear presentation of the bomber to pose or find the camera. Then it ends in a multitude of ways because it's also one of the more diverse moves with dozens of varients/impacts. Oh and you can't spam it.

Burning Hammer is the GOAT
it was a rare devastating super finisher Kobashi used in only a hand full of matches, I wish wrestling had more Super finishers that are rarely used

Haha, I actually rewatched it last night for the first time in probably 2 decades and was heading in to post this. Forgot Jannetty bladed as well... best promo ever IMHO. Still hurts.

Just a shame it never got the feud payoff it deserved.

They traded the IC title with that feud :gucci:

And that moment when Sherri got bashed over her head with the mirror that led to her face turn

That was a dope feud, wish we got a match when Shawn got the belt tho :wow:

Sweet chin music is the goat move because its a super kick so special that it has its own name.... all these lil wanna be Shawn's running around... HBK got a lot of sons.. he didn't create the move but I guarantee you 99% of the wrestlers using are using it because of Shawn michaels

This is crazy, this sent me down a rabbit hole

Macho Man pops invented the neckbreaker? :ohhh:

Eddie Guerrero brother invented the moonsault? :ohhh:

John Laurinitis invented the RKO/Diamond Cutter? :ohhh:

And a female invented the jack hammer? :ohhh:

I agree with this. A well-executed powerbomb is always a believable finish/nearfall. No matter who does it or what the variant is.

These days, a Superkick isn't even assured to take the average man off his feet.
