You know, I've always been a fan of mob flicks. I've seen all the classics before I watched the Sopranos. Finally saw it, and it's a damn good show, but I wasn't feeling it like I thought I would. I need to watch it again. Maybe I'll appreciate it more.

Yes....it really is. It's the show that started it all for a lot of these dramas you see on TV these days. Also, The Sopranos over The Wire IMO.

Such a consistent show. Weakest season was S6A with the whole Vito storyline but even still, upon rewatch it contained a lot of my favorite moments in the show. The Ride .:mjcry: Members Only set the tone for both parts of the season.....too tragic. The hug that Tone shared with Chris at his wedding with that spooky ass music....knowing things would never be the same after that. :mjcry: Chase clearly had an endgame in mind since the beginning of the show's run. The way he ended it made total sense if you actually paid attention.

Or the episode where tony meets his fathers goomah and by the end of the episode his dad wasn't really shyt but tony decides to be in denial because his accepting that his father wasn't shyt is accepting that he himself ain't shyt either and also all his life blaming his and the family misery on his mother when his fathet is equally to blame.

:wow:
Them dreams (borderline nightmares) Tony had throughout the show. :merchant:

Remember when Tone rung the doorbell of that house and saw his mother's silhouette just eerily standing at the top of the stairs? That shyt was creepy.

I feel like people just obsessed with mob movies/television cause this shyt MAAAD overated to me. it does not stand up to The Wire or Breaking Bad imo, now it doesnt mean its BAD but this show has GOAT status to people so yeah im gonna nitpick.

it might be apples and oranges to compare it to movies but like just other mob type genres are MUCH better, no season of sopranos is close to like Goodfellas or The first two Godfathers or even Casino. shyt Gottii with armand assante might be better. it fell off a cliff the last couple seasons, the ending was pure trash. all them epiosdes with tonys dreams that was trying to be deep but they didnt mean anything, felt like chase was always trying to be pseudo intellectual with it but hes not that good at symbolism and metaphor
Nah, it’s overated because of the mythical mafia

It really is but I'm overly biased when it comes to The Sopranos. I grew up in the northeast and have always been fascinated with any and everything La Cosa Nostra. They just go hand in hand and to me this show is second to none.

Word, I hear that.

Yeah, just about everybody I know, has told me I need to check the show out.

I'm going to buy the box set and binge for like a month and watch all of the episodes.

Loved it back when it was on in real time and finally re-watching it now and currently on season 2. Amazing show. All the hype is well deserved. Great acting performances all throughout especially from Michael Imperioli who plays Chris who didn't get enough props imo

Don't know if it's GOAT but it's GOAT contender. It has it's issues (pacing was off at certain points, too much AJ/meadow stuff at points).

I'll say as far as changing series, it's probably the most important series ever.
