All jokes aside - the Uncle Tom Johnson and Self Hate One names get me :russ: at times (and his white movie families is a topic in itself) - it's true you rarely see anybody on a 'But Obama isn't fully black black so it doesn't count' trip. Maybe it's just easier for the one-drop racists who are Rocky stans to deny his blackness and keep it moving :ohhh:

The NXT Universe
WHC or Universal title wouldn't count cause they are secondary to the WWE Championship (aka Vince's belt)

It should because they count them as equal on the shows. Heck, over the years since the Universal title was introduced, has headlined more than the WWE title.

Rock's dad is black of West African descent as the majority of AA's, so yes the rock is what his father is, indeed he is the first Black WWE champ.

The Coli overwhelmingly says yes? :mindblown:

Then why are you guys always bytching about having never had a black champion? :what:
The Rock has claimed his Samoan heritage the most, either that, or WWE paid him to get over peripheral family members.

alot of white people don't view him as a black wrestler. and they don't count him when threads like these are made.
and it doesn't help that they play up his samoan side way more, and hes in Hollywood playing white characters.

the real argument is how you view the belts.
the WHC had greater lineage than the WWF belt, but we know its the company's favored belt.

why did they get rid of the WHC anyway?

oh they coming. "he never acknowledged being Black" depsite the fact that his black ass daddy was involved in his 1st wrestlemania match. but if Dwyane Johnson isn't "Black" then neither are Sasha Banks, J Cole, Alicia Keys, Naomi Osaka, etc

naomi Osaka is marketed as japaneese, despite her saying that she doesn't rep it like that.
sasha banks isn't marketed as black. I wouldn't have even known for sure that she had black lineage if yall didn't tell me she was snoop's cousin.
cole & keys are artists within black genres. why even mention them??

He didnt claim anything the most..he has wrestling family that are Samoan..so it comes up ALOT. You just see what u wanna see to justify your criticism of him. It's clear that Rock looks up to his grandfather more than any of those other family members.

Because there have been countless exceptional black talent in wwe's 67 year history, and none of them get to sniff the main event scene, let alone win the wwe title. The main event scene is dominated by white guys who can barely move the crowd

Would rock have been giving his push and chance if he wasn’t half Samoan? AND a second generation superstar? He knocked it out the part but how many black guys got the rocket to his back after getting over or even got a chance to fail early like he did and not just be a scrub?

People who hate black people will blame guys like kofi Shelton and big e for not “stepping up” or grabbing the brass ring or whatever but damn near all of the black male wrestlers could go in the ring, cut decent promos, or at least get over enough to warrant a shot

Mark Henry was world heavyweight champion but I felt his reign more as an African American world champ then any other run including most of rocks reigns and that’s not a knock on rock. I always felt yes he is black but he ain’t black like me, kofi, Henry, truth, or The few tsc posters here who are black. Rock a legend and he became top five ever but y’all naive to think rock was a black champion because his daddy was black. His mom being Samoan and him being related to wrestlers was his legacy.
