Is the MPC Studio Good for Beginners?

My MPC just sits looking cool next to my turntables. Ever since I got Reason, never had any use for the MPC. At this point for me, I dont need it but I will never get rid of it.

If you have a mixer then why don't you use your mpc with reason? Make the drums on the mpc then set the bpm on reason and do the melody and shyt.

I use my keyboard controller and the XL isn't really built for usb connection. I have to midi it up and after a few bars just doesn't work . But I just so happened to use my MPC yesterday, because of this thread, had a fun day of sampling and chopping.

I was talking about using a midi keyboard for reason then have that go to a mixer, then use your mpc at the same bpm for the drums and have that go the mixer at the same time.
