:lupe:serious question, is it really that hard to find a job today?

Who is actively searching for work right now? How is it going?

Depends on the industry. Nurses, IT (not computer science/devs), accountants, tradesman I’m not seeing as having problems finding jobs in fact I’ve spoke to several ppl in those professions who say it’s the opposite and they have recruiters reaching out all the time. This individuals have experience and are really good in their skillset.

I'll be honest.....when you hear of folks sending a thousand apps and getting no response I believe AI is tossing their app. People don't realize how rampant these AI screeners are and although AI is doing some great things as a technology it's in its infancy and really shouldn't be used for some cases.

You are better off seeking out a recruiter or an employmemt agency if you are sending out a ton of apps and getting nothing. You need some kind of help at that point.

With that said AI resume optimizers are allegedly pretty good at what they do.

Now....with that said? There is a lot of competition for certain jobs. How many folks are looking for 80k+ jobs feeling they have the creds and need the money? A lot. What needs to happen is folks need to scale it back. It sucks but it's true. If you are single and childless that's easy. Only you have to do without. If you have a family and mortgage not so much but just know you have a lot more competition for those higher paying gigs.

Finally, if you have the grit start looking at starting your own business. Start small. Make your early mistakes and learn from them. Nobody wants to start small though. *sigh*

And because everything really is political? These tariffs do not help. These business owners put him in there and are now scared to hire folks because surprise surprise a tariff increases the cost to run a business. I wouldn't worry about AI robots taking jobs any time soon on a large scale. When they come around only a few businesses will be able to afford them. Like a small few. AI technology on that scale is expensive. A fact these 'AI will take your jobs' influencers never seem to bring up.

Im looking for a new job, but im finding that I’m at or near the top of the pay scale for someone in my position.

Have interviews and when it gets time to talk dollars, they lowball tf out of me.

I’m a “non-technical” project manager if that matters.
