The only reason he made this thread and posted that old article is cuz Bungie’s Sony game is rumored to be in the same vein :unimpressed:

Gizmo doesn’t play multiplayer games you might as well be asking your grandma who’s the hottest rapper in the game right now
bungie don't even have dedicated servers for destiny pvp :mjlol:

it’s been around for a long time but call of duty (despite its flaws) is bringing it more mainstream. Battlefield tried and failed terribly. I do think the battle royale genre is steadily becoming stale with fortnite embarrassingly leading the innovation while everyone else is seemingly struggling to simply maintain the basics. All that said I don’t think the extraction gameplay is going to over take battle royale any time soon. It exacerbated the problems with seasonal gameplay given that you lose everything with each reset making continuous play feel pointless especially if you’re jumping in at the tail end of a season.

COD had a serious opportunity of taking it mainstream with DMZ mode but its not quite there yet.

Just gotta wait for the console versions of Tarkov at this point.
