I had this view of the lincoln project during the election. However, the election is over, and long after you have a democratic congressman and an MSNBC host saying that defunding the military is empowering our enemies like post-911 republicans. The Lincoln Project stuff you can compartmentalize but it is worth noting that it seems that these individuals aren't just gravitating to Democrats because Trump ran without getting anything out of it. Instead, it seems they are also working in remodeling the Democratic party to take on some stances of a pre-Trump Republican party.

In order to win elections, the Dems went after spooks like Spanberger and former military people like Houlahan and Lamb. They gave up on the workers interests to become pro-military, police and corporate interests.

Because they don't care about honesty. Pretending MSNBC/CNN are leftist serves everyone's interest except the actual left. It allows establishment dems to paint themselves as the true voice of the left and it allows Republicans to paint moderate conservatism as irrelevant leftist extremism.
