Now I can agree with thisi dont think the lyricism is overrated. its just that people act like the east coast is the end all be all for rapping & lyricism
shyt is wack
True, but the concentration of dope lyricists are much lower in those places, especially the further back in time you go. NY/EC is where the culture of being "nice" reigned supreme.LA, Detroit, and Chicago are pretty underrated when it comes to lyricism and I'd argue their best lyricists have damn near reached the highs of top tier East Coast lyricists.
Also, the East Coast has fallen from grace in the lyrical department since the mid 2000's. Joey tried to bring it back but he didn't sustain the hype for long.
y’all just get on this forum and say shyt sometimes…Wu Tang outside of Meth and Raekwon made little to no sense most of the time. Just rhyming for the sake of rhyming, especially Ghostface after Ironman.

If Andre 3000 was born in Queens he’d be ACTQ’s weed carrierThe way the south goes nuts for andre 3k rapping the hokey pokey tells me what i need to know about “southern lyricism”
