Seinfeld one of the GOAT shows.

Was changing channels and came up on the Bubble Boy ep. :laff:

I'm a nerd/geek and don't find BBT all that funny.

I thought it was one of the stupidest shows ever at the start but I kept watching it for fun and once you get into the mood, it's pretty funny. You always know what's coming, the jokes are stupid, but you laugh anyway cause you know exactly what you're gonna get. A lot like Two and a Half Men like that, except take out the sex jokes and insert "nerd jokes" which aren't really "nerd jokes" at all but lowest common denominator nonsense.

It has fallen off SERIOUSLY in the last two seasons, once the nerds randomly got game and even Sheldon got a girlfriend (what the fukk?), and any type of emotion got involved. The show's premise ran out after three seasons, and since then it's been a lot of relationship nonsense.

The first 4 seasons are good, but last season (season 5) the show fell off. Now I'm thinking about dropping the show from my rotation & thinking about getting into another CBS multi-cam sitcom I've avoided for years, How I Met Your Mother.
As far as HIMYM, good times, VERY good times for about 6-7 seasons. They really did go as far as they could with the premise, then they started getting "relationshippy" (the characters started getting involved with each other) and the storylines just keep going in circles now, but I still keep watching.

Both shows are now half of what they were but I've watched em for so long, why stop now. It's the curse of the American television business, if these were Brit shows they'd have dropped 3 seasons of absolute fire and be seen as a classic, but they gotta squeeze every last drop out of these shows, and then squeeze some more...

Big Bang Theory = stupid comedy if you have nothing better to watch
How I Met Your Mother = smart comedy with some nice moments thrown in (think of a lightweight Scrubs)

:whoa: You don't need to be watching that, you'll realise too quickly that the characters are all lame apart from Marshall.

I've ony seen the first 6 episodes, but I'm enjoying it so far. Plus all of the main cast members (except for the guy that plays Ted), I'm familiar with from other TV Shows & Movies.

Yep! I've only watched the first 6 episodes of "How I Met Your Mother" so far, while I've seen every episode of "The Big Bang Theory" & A lot of "Two & a Half Men" and a HUGE difference between HIMYM and TBBT/T&AHM is that while TBBT/T&AHM goes for stupid, cheap laughs like every other multi-cam CBS sitcom, HIMYM feels like a good, smart NBC single-cam sitcom that's being disguised as multi-cam sitcom to fit the old-ass CBS audience.

And yes as soon as, Howard proposed to Bernadette I knew I wasn't gonna like the direction TBBT was heading and I was right. The show fell the fukk off last season. I also don't give a fukk about Penny & Lenoard's romantic relationship anymore, I wish they went somewhere with Penny & Raj sleeping together last season instead of just sweeping it under the rug. Also is it not tiring Amy is basically aching for the dikk from Sheldon all the time and he acts like a fakkit & basically blows her off all the time even though she's his girlfriend?

Big Bang is a a personal favorite of mine. It's never been super-creative or had intelligent writing but it's easy to watch and kill time. I agree that it fell off after they introduced Bernadette and even more when they added Amy. I could deal with Bernadette had they not given her that annoying voice that she originally did not have in her first few appearances on the show.

As for How I Met Your Mother, that fell off in a completely different and painfully embarrassing way. BBT added characters it didn't need which led to it's decline. HIMYM on the other hand changed everything that made it a great show. The Characters all became cartoon versions of themselves, and they started using a lot of juvenile, low brow humor and running gags that aren't in the slightest bit funny. How I Met Your Mother was once a genuinely funny show with great writing and jokes and had characters and plot lines that felt real and you could relate too. Now it's almost unbearable to watch. Still, I recommend any one who hasn't watched it to check out the first 4 seasons.

The Howard goes to space storyline :flabbynsick:

YES!!!! The show is just treading water with that wack storyline. I was okay with Howard & Bernadette dating during seasons 3 & 4. but now that their engaged/married that relationship is :flabbynsick:. I miss the days when Howard used to hit on Penny all the time during the first 3 seasons.

Its essentially "nerd blackface"

It can't even get it's references to science and sub culture right half of the time.
