the community is controlled by outside forces not black men or women. So it's not matriarchal

the women dont believe in black male leadership, so why would it even matter?
i don't think that's true. I would say women "believe" in male leadership but have a skewed definition of it. Both men and women do actually. Male leadership tends to be defined by making more money but when the woman makes more, then what happens? There is a breakdown in leadership.

Yes it is and its because of single mothers. Which is why the black community is so fukk up now. Women in American arent bred to run shyt.

Basically ...if any black man getting money in the private sector it's from middle class black women, people like Oprah, Zane, Tyler Perry, Luster, B.E.T. ...all their income from the black economy is black women's. Simply because she isn't a threat, she can make more money and be given more power than her male counterpart.

the women lose respect for male leadership in the process :ld: but we're so far gone now that black women actually enjoy being the men of the relationship. i say we should all stay in our financial lanes and both nikkas and women will talk abou thow it's perfectly okay for the woman to run the home.

so, yeah, we're a wanna-be matriarchy living in another races patriarchy. women think they run shyt, and the black community suffers because of it.

A woman playing her position out of necessity is different than enjoying being the "male" in the relationship. So I don't agree with you there.

sweety, it's not out of necessity, it's out of power. if a black woman had to choose between being submissive in another mans house, a man who actually RUNS his shyt. versus picking a man that she can control because he's not in a stable financial position; i truly believe most black women would find themselves more comfortable in the latter situation. (at least in the beginning)

hell, one chick on here was talking about how she'd rather adopt a kid than be up under a mans rule. this is the type of dynamic we're working with here. you can't blame the absent black male when you dont even want him

If you're a female without male leadership, then SOMEONE has to be the leader of that house, so it is out of necessity. I have a different experience and perspective than what you're saying, so I completely disagree with you. It's really no need to continue to go back n forth because we'll just never be on the same page about this.

No. It' not anything right now. Individual families are patriarchal or matriarchal, I've noticed. But the whole community doesn't lean one way or the other.

not trying to personalize this argument, but i heard them crazy ass rettas tapes. i'm willing to bet the nikka you was going crazy over wasn't shyt. im also willing to bet (no offense, dont be mad) that he nikka who got u pregnant wasn't a leader either.

so you can spin it however you want, but i know women are CHOOSING. it's not always out of necessity.

Sound Reasoning
Generally, yes. Are there pockets of patriarchal examples? Yes, but these are usually amongst the upper rungs of the black community or the older generations. However, even many older examples would still prove matriarchal in nature with examination.

Frankly, I would be curious to know how one could prove that the black community is generally patriarchal in 2013.

Peace

The right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way
You obviously don't know what your talking about. Black women are more educated then Black men, while at the same time not having their privileges. Black women have to work 4 times as hard, they have to overcome sex, race and dusty negroes like you complaining.

lol

This alias has a lot of potential.

The person I laid out on the tape was supposedly my "friend" (outside of the board) who had gotten mad over something that happened on sohh. Because of that he threatened to expose personal things about me that I didn't want shared so I gave him something better to expose. If I were in the same situation at that time, I would have done it again. Now I'm more comfortable sharing things that are a complete weakness to me. We've since apologized to each and moved on.

My daughter's father and I had sex but we were never in a relationship. As two people fukking, it was cool but that dynamic doesn't work as parents. Doesn't mean he's bad father or a bad person but we don't see eye to eye on things as parents and that's how shyt goes sometimes. He was never in my life to be a leader, we just made a stupid decision to be sexually involved without thinking of the consequences.

exactly, exactttttlyyy. this is what i'm saying. y'all try to play this "black man abandoned us" bullshyt. when the truth is women are randomly hooking up with dudes and CHOOSING to start families on their own.

it's not like these women were dating for 6 months, decided to get sexual with protection, then moved on to unprotected sex after discussing the future w/eachother. then the woman got pregnant by the guy after 2 yrs of a stable relationship, you had the kid. then one day he said he was going out for cigs, and never returned. this is NOT how it's happening. dudes are fukking chicks first day they meet, then fleeing when the chick got the nerve to say she's pregnant.

:what: Son, I never said he abandoned me. If you're trying to excuse men from being a father just because they made children outside of the ideal situation, that's a WHOLE other issue and I'm definitely not gong there with you. My daughter's father can be her father and a good one without being considered the leader of my house.
