Plus most people, if they took time to really understand, would see that Medicaid/Medicare and Social Security are Socialists programs. Now while I do think Capitalism isn't the best, Socialism has it's pitfalls, but I tend to think American will move a hybrid style by the end of 2050.
Only 29 years to go thank goodness. lol

We're a blended economy and always have been. We're not a fully capitalist or socialist economy. Economics has always been the story of who gets what, and why. It's pretty pointless to describe individual policies as capitalist or socialist We never were either of those.

What I do know is that the period of time that most people would describe as the most 'free market' economy created the most wealth inequality in history, an elite robber baron class ect. It also set us on the path to the Great Depression. The largest amount of growth and the era when more americans were lifted out of poverty, social mobility was at it's highest, wealth inequality was at it's lowest was when we had to most social safety nets.

We're veering towards the former, quickly. It would be pretty dope if we could shift towards the latter, and include non whites in the economic growth this time.

Shortage in materials (ex: wood, computer chips) caused more inflation than the money printing did. So yes, it contributed but not nearly as much as the shortage did.
To add to this - while there was some stimmy checks and expanded UI, in the grand scheme of things that's not enough to push inflation on the demand side. Most of the CARES act hasnt even hit the economy yet.
