For originality, special effects, storyline, soundtrack it's up there...no doubt...but I can't give it the 80s GOAT...the competition is too fierce.

& Somebody add Top GUn and Short Circuit to that list

That being said just making an 80s top 10 list puts you on for questionable GOAT status IMO.

just a unfunny cac comedy breh......i remember watching that for the first time with a white friend of mine and his siblings and they were just and im sittin there watching with the stone face like just not understanding wtf they finding so funny ...but thats the case for like 90% of bill murray movies for me tbh

I hate that label of "white comedy" and "black comedy" so just know that before I say what I'm about to say: funny is funny. But different people are going to react differently to shyt because humor isn't race dependent. If that were the case every brother I know should have a good time with any Tyler perry flick but we don't. And we should all think whatever parody marlon wayans is doing is freaking hilarious. But I saw haunted house 2 breh and the shyt was sad and unfunny.

Caddyshack on the other hand got me first on the strength of Rodney dangerfield. When he said the dance of the living dead, asked homegirl if she wanted to make $20 the hard way and then said she must've been something sweet before electricity, I lost my shyt. And for me, that kinda shyt is funny. And I laugh just as hard at that as i do coming to America

for me, no its not.....its a enjoyable flick but i cant say i laugh at it tbh

when i say its a cac comedy i mean that it doesnt really appeal to blacks on most levels. the whole setting of caddyshack alone makes it non appealing to someone like me.....rodney dangerfield is cool and gives good fukkery when need be but the overall movie just does absolutely nothing for me (especially murray character and the whole gopher hunt shyt)....i mean shyt animal house another cac comedy but that gets laughs outta me. so does movies like anchorman, old school, something about mary, dodgeball, wedding crashers, etc etc

You're stereotyping tho and generalizing. That's why I hate that phrase or logic. And on top of that I don't care that it takes place on a golf course, if it's funny it's funny. I don't need it to take place somewhere I'm familiar with when I'm very very familiar with the general idea of slobs vs snobs and one group of people looking down on another group and that group saying "fukk you" which is exactly what animal house is about at its core and so is caddyshack
