Is Supreme Kai/Shin the most useless Dragonball character ever?

He just might be.

Dude was first introduced as this mysterious badass character that instantly had Piccolo shook. Then we find out he's supposedly the top ranking god of the universe even above King Kai.

Unfortunately, like 5 episodes later he's getting bullied around by Goku and Vegeta and beat up by Babidi's goons. Pretty much nobody listens to him and he basically has to resort to hoping the Saiyans can do something about Buu. Being able to teleport is about the only useful thing this guy does other than giving exposition about Buu's backstory.

And let's not even talk about Super. He's basically just another one of Goku's cheerleaders in the background, and in addition he's pretty much Beerus' bytch. And again, he does nothing but hope for Goku and/or Beerus to deal with whatever comes up. And he doesn't seem to do a great job with Universe 7 in general considering their low ass ranking.

When Goku put the palm up on him, and Kai just shrugged away like a bytch as that ki ball was set to “Murk”, you knew he was gonna be Pui Pui status if he didn’t get the fukk outta the way.

The Kais were finished like the Corleones in NY, and Beerus had to show up to have someone leveled past Goku and Vegeta.

Still mad that they had Piccolo shook of him, but can’t recall if it was out of respect (Kami influence) or he was legitimately stronger than Piccolo.

Maybe they’ll reference Goku almost killing Shin in Super… would’ve killed Beerus lol

Yeah, but in Super we find out the Supreme Kais are connected to the Gods Of Destruction. If Shin dies, so does Beerus. That alone makes him somewhat valuable/useful

To be fair to Piccolo, nobody knew how the universe worked at that time. Nobody could have known the Kai was capping. The Kai’s might actually be the Dipset of the Dragonball universe…them nikkas was cool when it all began but once you saw them fleeing from the Rucker the mystique wore off

The Whole Buu saga was anticlimactic in general

I have to admit this is facts. Buu saga was really just Toriyama going back to his comedy roots. People forget this dude was writing shyt like Dr. Slump before he did dragon ball. I think he wanted to end the series by fusing the roots of dragon ball(comedy) with the thing that got him really paid(action+high stakes drama). Some people found it jarring to go from cell and the androids to a villain that literally looks like chewing gum and turns people into candy to eat them.

Supreme Kai really just felt like a plot device to describe the threat of Buu and to power up Gohan and introduce Vegito who ended up being a very likeable character. I remember getting hyped AF when he came back in super.
