Lmao absolutely not. They gave him 21, which is generous. Wade is more around 24-25...anything higher than the #21 they gave him is reaching really hard for Wade...

Russell is one of the most overrated players ever because he played in a time that 99% of fans alive never saw and they go off his titles. Russell was never by consensus even the best player alive while he played, which was the same era The Logo, Wilt, Big O, Baylor played in, and you can make the argument all four of those guys were better players than Russell. Easily make the argument...

It's been 50 years since Russell retired. The game has introduced many greats since then, and he was only Top 5 50 years ago because he won all the chips on the best team. Anybody still putting Russell in their Top 10 is doing so out of blind bias because not only did they probably not see him play, they'll be stumbling to explain how he's a better player than several guys they put him ahead of...

Ive chopped this up with my grandfather and his friends and old ass nikkas on prison yards. Old heads love him because he's they era, but if you ask them who was the best player of the 60s, his name ain't coming up in the majority, and if you ask them if he was better than any of the four guys I mentioned, you gonna get more "no's" than "yeah's"....

While I might not agree with everything you say, I enjoy reading your post.Always well thought out. With a crisp, articulated flow.

"so curry, you landed 4 threes in the 4th quarter to rally your team to a victory against the home team, how do you feel?"

"oh i feel great, you know, hope the fans drive home safe"

:mjtf:If he was never considered the best player of his time explain how he won 5 MVP’s, more than anyone else during that era

There’s so much wrong about this post bro lol

If y’all wanna slight Bill Russell, you gonna have to do so by scrutinizing the era he played in, where there was like 8 teams and a very small talent pool.

But Bill Russell was the catalyst of the greatest dynasty of that era. His impact on the court surpassed the likes of Wilt Chamberlain, especially in the playoffs.

You ain’t really have to be there to watch it, it’s all written in history & Wilt’s flame outs in the postseason are well-documented and there’s footage of their battles.

I said he was never the "consensus" best player. He won 5 MVPs because he was the best player on the best team, and yes, he was in the conversation, but Russell didn't have autonomy as the best player...

Nah I agree with this, and I'm not one of these guys who thinks you have to see everybody play to make an informed decision...

Russell wasn't a better player than Wilt, but he was a more impactful postseason presence...

I still have Russell in that Top 11-13 area. Where do you put him?

Bill Russell has to go somewhere in the top 10 off general principle.

Cuz of the era played in I give him partial, or half credit for the # of titles he won just for sake of comparison to players in the modern era. He won 11 on Boston. I look at his chips as worth around 5 or 5.5 titles :yeshrug:
