So basically if your account gets hacked and the hacker buys stuff they don't have to refund you and if file a chargeback they will ban your account and you lose all access to everything you purchased.

I will never give Sony access to and valid payment method I have. PSN cards to buy stuff only.

they had people's info in a folder non-encrypted. If you giving them your information now, you asking to get your identity stolen.

I bought my PSN pass off Amazon. no way am I giving Sony my info.

The problem extends to PayPal as well. A hacker can use PayPal to charge stuff and you're still at the same point.

For a company to say they don't care it the charges made to your account were authorized by you or not is wild though.

what happens in this scenario is that if you do a chargeback with your bank first, Sony will ban your account. The only way for you to get your account back is to buy PSN cards in the amount of whatever the item was that was "purchased" on your account and call them. They did that to my brother PSN. He had one of my cards attached to his profile through Paypal and a PS Vue sub kicked in and charged $50. At the time I didn't know I called the bank and they gave me back $50 but when I called Sony and explained that to them they found out where the charge came from and they banned his account. They told him to buy a $50 card, call them and they will unban his account.
