North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
And are studios so pressed to have positive reviews and big opening weekends that they release trailers too far out, trailers to give too much info, and extended scenes?

With YouTube everyone is a critic. Everyone gives thier two cents and you prettying much know everything that's going to happen before you watch the damn movie :mjpls:

Only way it ruins it for me is that on every social media website you go to there's always spoilers about movies you're not tryna get spoiled for. It's kinda annoying.

Yes and no.
The marketing blitz for these movies is kinda OD (esp the Disney ones) and you're almost sick of the movie before you've even seen it.

I also think groupthink amongst the nerd echo chambers is tainting movies well before their release.

But social media also helps to prop up great smaller movies we otherwise might not have heard of or checked out

I look at how movies are over discussed here, threads made two years in advance with every casting, on site shoot, costume reveal, script change, and trailer, teaser, blog review and I feel the people highly invested in the online world of movies are ruining them for themselves. Everyone thinks they're a critic, I don't see or hear many if any of these complaints from friends or family. My brother is hyped for xmen while on here it's pure doom and gloom. The majority of the movie gong public ain't invested like this, they go see it, may slap a RT ranking down if they care, but most are entertained for 2.5 hrs and move on.

nobody forces us to watch these trailers 100 times, but we do because we're excited. when we were kids we saw the trailers on the big screen and that was it.

you are right. we def set up movies/tv to suck. im hype as fukk for Walking Dead to come back next season but I feel like all of the hoopla around the cliffhanger and people trying to find out any piece of info will ultimately make any follow up a letdown.

Social media fukks up a lot of things but all you have to do is not click on the shyt if you don't want to be spoiled.

During the football season I have to DVR some of the Steelers games and purposely turn off all notifications and sign out of Facebook so I ain't spoiled, it's ways around it.

It's why I bury my face in my phone until the previews end. fukk trailers.

If I'm interested/going to see the movie regardless, I try to avoid any and all trailers. It never, ever doesn't make the movie a better experience.
