The thing with mixed raced people thats really making it a challenge for them, Is they think they can claim all their ancestry equally.

It doesn't really work that way everybody else.. I mean technically everybody is mixed to some extent. Nobody does a ancestry test have it come back 100% Nigerian. Some of us might have some, Cameroonian, some Native American or even some Irish in there , but we don't go around waving a st patties day flag saying i rep my Irish side and my Nigerian sides. We just say we black. Most people in this country do.

If you want to rep mixed race instead, rep it. I have no problem with that. But be mixed race at all times, don't be black when it suits you, then italian when it suits you. She literally introduced herself as Cuban and Italian, then just said black a sentence later.

Breh the situation is different here.....

I'm sorry but just because people may have grew up in the same environment does not make them the same.

if people have to lie to themselves for whatever reason; it is what it is :manny:

Ok. I won’t compare everytime.

Do you want to answer the question?

Sure, it’s not a disservice to them per se because they are the ones who came up with the classification, they are telling you who you are. It doesn’t help that usually black is associated with negative energy while white is associated with everything that black isn’t.

Referring to ourselves backed by a region, country, or continent, first, something with meaning can’t possibly make our situation any worse. I just think calling yourself black takes the humanity away.

How do you refer to yourself?
