I don't think he's a bad commissioner, it's the signs of our time. Yea back in the early 2000's any commissioner of any league could've stayed out the light because we didn't have youtube, twitter, or this many independent bloggers. Now, every decision is placed under a microscope and discussed every hour on the hour 24 hours a day. You have to be so damn politically correct nowadays. The larger your company becomes, the more lawsuits you face. As a CEO you have to protect your company. He actually has done a pretty good job.

How good the commissioner is is going to be evaluated by the owners. If they are making more money thanks to his policies then he'll be the crowned the greatest regardless what fans think.

• Fans are sheep.
• They wont boycott sh!t. No heart having mofos.
• So they keep buying the product despite how unhappy they are.
• Product being sold meand owners eating good.
• Owners eating good = no need for change

fully agreed...i wish i knew this "genius" that people speak on about Stern. He's basically Clinton during the dotcom boom...you could've put any retard in the commish/president spot and they couldn't have fukked up having Bird/Magic/MJ

Goodell himself has done NOTHING to better the sport...the only thing he's done is suspend players in some fabled attempt at maintaining the integrity of "the shield"

the way he made it to be, the NFL was in shambles, and it was his job to clean it up.

Sean Payton suspended a year... on what the NFL cant even prove was a real bounty system

gets caught illegally taping teams... gets fined 500k and they lose a draft pick

he just wants to play god cause he never got a chance to play football on that level.

Also I forgot to add this, even causal fans I watched the 49er game with yesterday said the refs were terrible. Is the good old boy roger really that that cheap the richest sports league in the world cant give the refs a small pay increase. If the NFL did care ABOUT PLAYER SAFETY this issue would have been handled a long time ago. I miss Paul Tagliabue
