smh... You think that label is relevant today?
If an album was certified triple platinum with big hits and a successful tour how can they be “irrelevant”?shyt ended sad as fukk and irrelevant
horrible thread
can any label really end/be broken up/sold "well"? I can't think of a way...
Rocafella ended in 2013 and the last 3 albums were massively successful
Rocafella died when they sold the remaining 50% of the company to Def Jam way back when Jay took the Def Jam president gig and Dame and Biggs split completely….from that point on “Roc-a-Fella” wasn’t shyt but a logo…at the very latest you could pretend Rocafella was still a thing in any meaningful way was when Jay left def jam completely in 2007
No, the label ended in 2013 off the backs of 3 highest successful albums and tourssmh... You think that label is relevant today?
They didn’t go out sad they had some of their biggest hits ever and massively successful albums after 2005ROC went out sad after 2005…
Young Gunz second album was basura
Bleek’s album was ok
Freeway’s second album was decent but it should’ve had better beats. The Bink produced cuts saved the album
It was good while it lasted
Those were Def Jam and/or Roc Nation albums fam … none of the principal parties had been involved in “Rocafella” at all for years by that point, it wasn’t a functioning label…literally just a logo Def Jam used for marketing purposesRocafella ended in 2013 and the last 3 albums were massively successful

Damon Dash tells 1515 that he plans to revive the label he co-founded and release Curren$y's Pilot Talk through the company. Roc for life? "Def Jam or Universal...rapradar.com
Dame was pretending to be “resurrect” Rocafella in 2010 when he was working with Spitta…because it literally didn’t exist in any meaningful way once Jay left def jam in ‘07

Last 3 albums massively successful. What a way to go out.
Dame dash is an idiot, his opinion means nothing lol.
Yeah the last 3 albums released on Rocafella were double triple and 5 times platinum with successful toursI don’t need a wiki link to read the last 3 albums they slapped a roc logo on…we literally lived the shyt in real time, it wasn’t even that long ago
There was no Rocafella Records post ‘07…no office, no staff, no executives…literally just a logo for a branded wholly owned by Universal/Def Jam
They didn’t go out sad they had some of their biggest hits ever and massively successful albums after 2005
Yeah Rocafella totally was unsuccessful before KanyeKanye distorts just how bad the rest of that label is historically
Single handily (not counting RNB acts) saved Hoev's legacy
