I noticed people who can't spell seem to mispronounce words as well

It's one way out of many.![]()
I wouldn't say gauging intelligence. U don't have to be intelligent to know how to spell properly, just educated.
There is a big difference between intelligence and education.
Intelligence : The ability to see things before they happen
I agree, but it seems that once you shun education for so long your brain begins to atrophy. Minor mistakes and shortening words is one thing. It's like, fine - you don't care. But people typing out shyt like: "Wer goin to the muvies almos they're" on facebook makes meI mean, unless a person flat out never had a chance to go to school, extremes like that have to be connected with a low IQ in some way since the words themselves are not shorter or easier to type out.
I know people who can spell but can't write a proper paragraph.........

Most dont care about spelling well in casual settings but to not know how to spell well is not good but it does not sure you're smart or intelligent. Just good vocabulary and memory.
you just lack discipline in those areas, but for some reason you felt that spelling words correctly mattered. No it isn't. I should know better than anybody.
I rarely misspell words. But if you ask me about anything like politics, the economy, history, science, any mathematics other than very basic shyt, etc., I'm most likely gonna give you theface
- I have no idea what calculus is. I'm sure it's some math you can't do without a calculator, though.
- I don't know when the Civil War was or which countries fought in it.
- If someone asks me who Booker T Washington and Crispus Attucks are, I'm telling them the nikka from WWE and one of the old Rice Krispies mascots.
- I still have trouble with long division.
- I have no idea how the internet, computers or television works. In fact, like ICP, I honestly don't know how magnets work.
- I don't know what the hell the Iowa caucus is; even though I keep hearing about it during election time.
- I'm not a major hiphop fan, so when I first joined SOHH and saw everyone talking about 'ether', I thought it was pronounced 'eh-ther' instead of 'ee-ther'. I actually still pronounce it in my head like that because I've been doing it for so long.
- I once though statutory rape was when you raped someone while they're tied down and unable to move, like a statue.
I could go on and on.
The point is, being a good speller doesn't = intelligent.

Spelling is a good indicator at a young age at how a student cares about doing things correctly. I won a couple of spelling competitions when I was younger because it would bother me when I would see something misspelled. This is probably because of my mom being a teacher.
But how the fukk do you not now what countries fought in the civil war.![]()
