Ehhh plenty of vanity labels have no real artists on them so its not really the biggest failure.

For a lot of artists the vanity label is a way to get a slightly bigger cut of their OWN album sales, and also extra money from the label. Many artists have no intention of EVER signing anyone but want the vanity label for the financial benefits.
