She's like half a rapper at best. Almost as many songs singing as rapping.

I'll give her this from the school of Lil Kim clones she's the best even superior to the original.

I love Kim too and “technically”, she is a better rapper. Laid the blueprint for Nicki BUT she didn’t put out enough high quality records. Nicki has legitimate hits that will be played forever. Even if they “pop” records, she still RAPPING on them.

We talking about the best rappers of all time, there’s a certain criteria you have to hit. One is having the longevity to constantly re invent yourself and your sound and still stay “hot”. It’s why it’s been so many female rappers over the years but none of them have reached the heights of Nicki due to her rapping ability and commercial appeal and willingness to “switch it up”. Even from a technical standpoint, Nicki still going bar for bar with Kim and Fox.

I feel like Nicki should be greater than she is but she wanted to be in the pop star lane like Drake rather than get the respect of a great rapper. Also when you out there putting your ass on display as a gimmick people don't take you as serious. She ran out the clock on her initial fame and exist in an awkward space now.

What’s the “respect of a great rapper”? Because she made “Pop” records and crossed over? She still has a massive catalogue of traditional hip hop and straight rapping her ass off. The “respect” of a great rapper often times means you are broke and out the game or making records no one hears/having an extremely small fan base. I’m thinking someone like Rapsody who is a great MC but she doesn’t have ANY records I would throw on at a kickback or even in the whip. Nicki makes really good music breh and it’s still hip hop.

And I still think Nicki has the respect of a great rapper amongst the greats. No one would ever say Nicki a slouch. But I get that folks have preferences but if we stacking her up in a GOAT criteria, there’s not going to many female rappers on her level.

Nicki's bag is deep, and if she wasn't such a terrible person that made bad life decisions that hurt her reputation she probably would have eventually been up to do a Super Bowl.
