Both games combat is cut from the same cloth IMO.

MH combat is more dynamic and sandboxy in terms of what the player can do but Souls enemies feel like they have more complex movesets with more options/variance than most monsters in MH.

For me MH has the addicting gameplay loop tied heavily to build crafting and customization that makes me want to grind for gear+drip whereas Souls games have that stuff but what makes those games special is the constant level of tension and overcoming it. Both games obviously have overlap in regards to both but those areas are where they're stronger than the other IMO. Its like both games scratch the same itch :dame: but in a slightly different way

true, arkveld and gore magala could definitely be a soulsborne bosses though. Their move sets are mad annoying (aggressive) and they hit hard af.

i really just hope the next souls game adds grappling/climbing in with the combat. It’s one thing i really like with DD2 and MHW.

I will say I have more fun with MH combat in terms of it's interactivity with the environment, and feeling a little less rigid at times due to having more speed and not as much reliance on i-frames/stamina being more forgiving

This is why Dragons Dogma saddens me

It's got the potential and a lot shared with Monster Hunter's (combat, monster behavior/animations, mechanics) but fumbles at the end zone 40 yr line :francis:

Dragon’s Dogma 2 feels like it was made with leftover parts of MHW

Gore magala? So I guess the rumors of this being connected to 4u are true. Do you know if tetsucabra and seltas are fightable?

Yeah. My reflexes aren't like they were 2008 so the more forgiving i-frames are my vibe right now. If this was 2008 all things being the same I'd say no tho.
