I can't even take anyone who disagrees seriously

Rap music, generally speaking, has become KKK music, Minstrel Show music, black genocide music.

Rap music has become more than just "anti-black" it has become "anti-black PROGRESS" music.

The themes glorified in most rap music would absolutely stifle and destroy any community....no other community would allow what the black community is currently allowing.

I'm not even talking about just murder and violence, I'm talking even on down to the glorification of financial IRRESPONSIBILITY aka the "make it rain" lifestyle, etc.

Rap music is also teaching a new generation of black people that OTHER black people are the enemy aka "the opps".

Rap music is one of the worse things that has ever happened to the black community.

It has become mental and spiritual poison.

If you can't see it I can only assume you haven't yet grown a brain inside of your head.

Not anti black just anti period...it's male masculinity at its finest saying F u and F U..it's subjective but he is also a Cosby kid plus he grew up around Mos Def on the set...it is what it is

I like how you think.
Anti black... And Anti everything.

And soon this will be a big topic in our communities
The blacks who dislike nikkaz and nikka shyt
And feel that nikkaz are the cause of all the problems. And the nikkaz who like at the regular blacks as squares gonna have to separate

When this Kendrick/Drake thing was going on and people was talking about "Not Like us".
Ive been trying to start the conversation on here "who is US", cause y'all "US" is closer to their "US" compared to some of "US" over here.

100% When the fun left, things started getting a little too "reality" based.

C Delores was right :francis:

But there is a lot of rap that isn't on self hate demon time too. Problem is these mainstream cac controlled companies have been pumping a lot of poison over decades now purposely and it's hard to reverse, but it's starting to happen. Funny how They don't do it with their own people. :mjpls:
Yall gotta stop wit the C Delores was right shyt. Lol. If yall only knew.

Coli back to hating hip hop again after the Kendrick/Drake beef? Ok got it. Lol.

If your parent is a belligerent alcoholic and drunk most of the time acting stupid, you don’t hate your parent because you acknowledge their alcoholism and hate that, 🤷🏽‍♂️. Just ignoring it and acting like it’s not a problem because you love them…and feeling like if you speak on it then you hate your parent…that’s not the move brudda, specially when you know better.

Hip hop raised a lot of us, not even speaking hyperbolic, I mean literally, we learned a lot of the values and outlooks and developed the personalities we have, (a lot stupid af, some good) from hip hop…so the Parent correlation is fitting. I love hip hop, I would completely be a different human being (for better or worse, who knows) without hip hop, literally…but I hate that it’s a belligerent alcoholic most of the time, lol 🤷🏽‍♂️

Lemme ask u a question. What do u see in the streets? When u look at the state of the hood? It's weird tho. Because during the blog era. Everyone complained that rappers were too soft etc etc. To me it seems like nikkas don't know what they want. Look at this Kendrick beef for instance. They Not Like Us. With a whole bunch of gang members on stage celebrating. Dissing another rapper because he's "soft" and a half black Canadian. If I'm a young nikka tryna get in the rap game. Imma be confused as fukk about what nikkas want from me. Look at how Cole is being treated right now cause he didn't want to be part of the drama no more. I just find all of this shyt interesting. Matter fact look at how people treat Big Sean. Lol.

Trotting out this dude to talk about this feels archaic. Will we have a thread about Wynton Marsalis' views next...
:dead:

The more this goes on, the more it becomes clear a lot of people simply don't view hip hop as art or a genre of music. Black music is apparently supposed to be about respectability politics, not having fun, and denying human instincts. Go ask Jamal-Warner what he thinks about modern jazz and I guarantee you he's going to complain about fusion and musicians not wearing suits anymore. Which is the same shyt Marsalis complains about. You guys are focused on rap lyrics but this general argument has been used against black music - regardless of lyrics - for a long time.

Also I'm tired of the idea that only rap is violent, hyper sexual etc. Go listen to some death metal and shut the fukk up. I don't fukk with opp rap and that Florida shyt, I'd have no issue with Youtube refusing to stream that shyt. But that's a niche of rap that isn't even popular. We just had a rap battle between the two biggest rappers that made it pretty clear what's popular/relevant and what's not. I don't see Drake or Kendrick (or Cole) rapping about street shyt and yet they're bigger than everyone else so...can we finally admit that white kids (and black kids) pumping youtube views to bullshyt opp rap doesn't make it popular?
