His films he directed have grossed 2.4 Billion off a combined 700 Million for all the films. What people need to understand is Hollywood could care less about reviews and reception. They only care about dollars. M. Knight has 1 Classic (6th Sense), 1 Borderline Classic (Unbreakable) 1 Sold Film (Signs). "The Village" wasn't terrible just wasn't great. "The Happening" was bad but there was some good ideas there about global warmer/climate change. "Lady in the Water" was just a disaster, he said he wanted to make "An Adult Fairy Tale". Lord. "The Last Airbender" just strayed to far away from it's source material.
"After Earth" wasn't as bad as people were saying but it wasn't great. He's basically on a losing streak right now but there is a good director in there. I think Hollywood and his success are to blame for his downfall. He was being called the next Hitchcock cause of his suspense and the next Spielberg cause of his success. I actually Like M. Knight and I do think he's 1 great film away from getting his props back but what I find funny is people say "Nobody like M. Knight" but his movies are successful.
