The way that he was setting up the daughter, I thought she was going to turn out to be an alien or get killed by one or something but she was just weird for the sake of being weird.

I think maybe he became too confident in his directing abilities and he accepted screenplays that were trash and thought "nah man, I can change some things here and there and it will definitely be a good movie!"

That movie made a lot more sense than the original movie. Dre Parker got put to work almost Rocky Balboa and Frank Dux style while Daniel-san did absurd chores to beat the competition
