It's doable, but most people are living in the hood...rappers who've been recently signed to major deals, still live in the hood.

it's no different than anywhere else for the most part, rent is considerably higher than most cities... but it's simple, you get a job that will allow you to live on your own,a job and a side hustle to make ends meet, or you get roommates and split the rent.

that whole "i moved to LA, with no money and made it big" shyt is the fastest route to a shytty life.

nah, that's reality.. that whole " if you want to find an actor or singer in LA... just go to a restaurant" shyt is the literal truth.

yeah, people do make it... but you'll find far more people who LA ate alive, and are now homeless,selling/doing dope,doing porn,escorting or selling ass on Figueroa just cause shyt didn't work out for them.
